Founded by three Colombian entrepreneurs in 2015, Rappi is a mega-high growth on-demand delivery startup that operates across Latin America. They connect consumers with independent contractors and businesses who can supply everything from groceries and prepared meals to clothing and drug-store medication.

Since its humble origins handling restaurant deliveries in Bogota, Rappi has now reached unicorn status and is only the second Colombian startup to achieve a valuation of $1 billion. They’re on a mission to build the most important tech company in Latin America, with investors including Sequoia Capital, Yuri Milner’s DST Global and German-based firm Delivery Hero.

Rappi currently operates across more than 25 cities in Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and Chile, as well as in Mexico, Peru and Uruguay, with 50,000 different businesses in partnership. A team of around 20,000 couriers deliver fresh produce, hot meals and office supplies to the startup’s rapidly growing base of customers, as well as handling direct cash transfers
