We founded Via in 2017 with the belief that globalization was only going to accelerate, that companies of all sizes would choose to go global faster, and that the next generations of workers would want to access opportunities beyond where they happened to live. We have had the privilege and perspective of living and working across many countries, which showed us the way the world worked was changing - and we wanted to be part of it.

We started building a global hiring platform that allowed companies to recruit people across countries and quickly realized just how hard it was to actually hire someone abroad compliantly. We followed the needs of our customers, and built the local infrastructure and support that helped companies hire team members across borders without the hassle. We’re proud to have built the only local-first employer-of record platform that focuses not just on software, but on the support and expertise companies rely on when growing their teams abroad.

It’s been an incredible ride to build and scale Via from the ground up, together. We could not have reached this milestone in our journey without our amazing team, the support of incredible investors, and the trust of our customers and their teams. 

As soon as we met Mike Seckler, CEO of Justworks, Isaac Oates, the founder, and more of the Justworks team, we felt genuine alignment both in strategy and in values. We shared a vision for global hiring that put the customer first. We cared not just about growth for growth’s sake, but about building lasting value for customers and their teams.
